Book Checkout procedures and policies

How many books can my child check out?

Kindergarten = 1 book daily (Kindergarten parents, if you are not seeing a new book in your child's backpack from the library there is a good chance your child has an overdue book.)

First = 2 books

Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth grade = 3 books

When can we check out books?

K -5th Grade can check out books when they return books. We have an open-door policy, students can check out during the school day from 9:30-3:30. Students can also check out during their library lessons. Books are allowed to be checked out for a two-week period.

Overdue Policy

If books are overdue, students will not check out in the library until those books are returned.

Students are told each time they visit the library if they have books overdue. Also, students may use their username and password that they use to log in to any computer at Westridge Elementary to check their library status by signing in to the following link:

https://library.pwcs.edu/

  1. Choose Westridge Elementary School
  2. The sign in is in the upper right-hand corner

Overdue library notices are sent home at the end of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter. Then they are mailed every month during 4th quarter.

If you have a question about an overdue book, please email me ([email protected] ) Sometimes the book is found in the classroom or on the shelf. This doesn't happen often, but if you send me an email, I can quickly check to make sure the book is accounted for. My goal is to have your child reading as many books as possible this school year and I want to see them checking out books often!
