I am a first grade teacher at Westridge Elementary. This is my sixth year teaching first grade at this wonderful school. I have taught second, fourth, fifth and sixth grades, but I absolutely love first grade!
I have lived in Westridge with my husband for the past sixteen years. My husband is a retired naval aviator. We have three grown children and five grandchildren. We also have two adorable dogs, Cady and Bridgette.
We are avid boaters! We keep our boat in Annapolis, MD and are there as much as possible from April through November. If you want to know about a place on the Chesapeake Bay, I will probably be able to help you. We have traveled from the Upper Bay to the Outer Banks in the last thirteen years.
I am very excited to begin a new school year! This year we will be “Happy Campers.” First grade is so much fun! We work with a lot of manipulatives during math, write stories with illustrations, compose a class book that is published, and learn to read within groups, with friends and using the laptops! We will be having fun with science experiments and exploring cultures, history, people, timelines and maps during social studies. I can’t wait to meet all of you, so our new adventure in first grade can begin!
Welcome to First Grade! The children are doing very well adjusting to the new schedule and routine. We are quite busy and the day goes by fast!
Our class needs snack for twenty-two children and bottles of Purell hand sanitizer.
