The mission of Westridge Elementary’s School Counseling Program is to provide a data-driven, comprehensive, and developmentally appropriate school counseling program that addresses the needs and interests of all students in relation to academic, social emotional needs, and college/career development. School counselors promote a positive school climate that fosters acceptance, diversity and empathy. We will equip our students with essential skills to become problem solvers, encourage resiliency, and remain steadfast on their personal and academic goals.
We partner with stakeholders in our school community to prepare our students to be critical thinkers, resilient and collaborative within our community and larger society (PWCS Mission Statement). We do so by committing to inclusive practices and equity within our department and school community, ensuring that students have access to learning in order to achieve success.
We encourage students to wear their A.R.M.O.R. by holding themselves accountable, treating everyone with respect, staying motivated in school, helping students gain organizational skills, and striving to be ready to learn each day because our ARMOR unites us and makes us stronger (Westridge mission).

The vision of Westridge Elementary’s school counseling department is that all students will continue to grow as lifelong learners, remain resilient in the face of challenges, and will be prepared to reach their fullest potential and feel successful in their future careers. Students will be able to function with empathy, compassion, and respect within their community.

We, the counselors of Westridge Elementary School believe:
- All students need access to a comprehensive school counseling program that is data-driven and aims to meet the needs of every student.
- School counselors provide education on social emotional learning, academics, and career/college readiness.
- School counselors must foster a collaborative relationship with all stakeholders (faculty, parents, students, and community) for student success.
- Students will develop skills through our program to encourage them to have continued success as lifelong learners.
- We encourage diversity and acceptance through our program.
